Color boost

As you must have noticed, I write once a month. Or something interesting has come up and I had to inform you. I planned on writing more, but before I know a month has passed already. It goes way to fast!

I owe you guys an update of what I have been doing lately. Except for visiting the beach and going to the gym. I have been searching the internet for a new supplier of Merino wool. And I found it. I also found a supplier for the soap who also has very cute wool to use for knitting. See the pics.

Also I made pictures of what I already have made with the Merino wool. A bag, a cute jewelry box and a flower. I made more, but used them as gifts for friends. So no pictures of those, sorry.

And with my boyfriends aunt I went to a shop where they sell craft stuff. That day there where some crafters givings workshops. Fun! I joined three of them and made things I didn't think of doing myself. A bookmark with a special ink pen, a background for in a picture frame with paint and a hairdryer (!) and an other background using a page of some old book. See the great results down below.

Ok, the pictures aren't the greatest. Just imaging much more color! Next time I'll do some crafting at home and show you my creations. Also I'm planning a workshop I'll give making the flower above with Merino wool. Interested? Mail me.

I passed 3rd year!!!

Yeah! I passed, now up to the 4th year and graduate for my Bachelor of Fine Art. Man that sounds really big.

I got very good critique at my exposition. It went fast but very clear. Down below you'll see the pics of my work. Three teachers will examine me on what I did the last semester (half year), and they will ask me questions about my work. Later today I got the results back. Very nerve breaking! Brrr. But I got it! I am so happy and relieved.

To bad I have to clean the mess up first. I had to bring everything home, the school closes for the summer. So my bedroom is packed up to the sealing with boxes with paint or paintings. I have to find a way to reach my bed now! Ha ha.

Enjoy!

May

Well the last month of school has started. It was very short and went by very very fast. To bad though, because I had so much planned but with the holidays school closes and this last semester just flew by. Like way to fast! I have done a lot of what I planned and thought it was time to show you also some of my drawings and prints I made. So I added two slide shows and updated the other ones. Enjoy!

When I finished those bunny egg-warmers I was up to something else. I started making a Hanne Beauty. See pictures below.

I made mine with purple en white. It takes forever you know! Al those stitches and all the same, Brrr. Maybe thats why I still didn't finish it!

Look at these guys!

This morning I was looking through some old pictures, and look what I found! Aren't they cute?! These are a group of egg warmers.
On a sunday morning in the winter you could put them on your egg so it won't get cold while you are waiting for everyone else to join you at breakfast. Handy right?
The ones in the pictures I made as a present for my boyfriends aunts birthday. And his mom wanted a group to, so for her I made them in a different color and with different beads on them.

Very fun to make and easy!

Ruined Paintings

I still can't believe it... I just can't. I have no idea how someone can do this. Ok let me tell you what happened. I'll start at the beginning of my ow so wonderful day.

It was wednesday morning and I got of the train and walked to school. Not feeling all to great because of a little stomachache. I arrived and made a cup of tea for myself. While making some space to store my paintings in my own work shop, I wondered how my painting were doing. I had to store them for a while in the hallway because I had moved to another space last month.

I went to get my paintings and I noticed that they had been moved by someone, very strange. I started moving my painting to my own space, and something didn't feel right. I was missing 3 paintings! How can I lose 3 painting?! Very weird. So I went looking and asking everybody if they had seen something. A couple of students helped me look. We looked everywhere!

Then I found the frame of one of my paintings. There still was a bit of fabric around the edges and I could see someone tried to paint it over. Even the paint was wet. (now it was like a couple of hours later than when we started our search) We where looking now for someone who still was painting and just had a piece of the middle of the painting left. See picture. But I still kept wondering who could paint over someone else's painting?!

Then everything went very fast. Someone found the inside of what's left of the frame above in a trash-can! WOW, how did it get in there. Now this turned into a crazy detective story. Next we found the killer. A fellow student came to me and told me about a master-class student who just fits right in the description of the person we where looking for. I went over to him and just chatted about what he was making, while I was looking around his working space. And then I saw it, he was painting over my self-portrait! I immediately informed my mentor. She already knew that I was missing paintings and now I had found 2 of them. O my ... ! I was very upset and tears came down my face.

After I had calmed down, I did everything to prove my point. There was still a bit of my shoulder that I recognized and some paint on the side of the painting. The 'killer' denied it. He said he has nothing to do with it and that he bought those paintings in a store. How could he. He is an exchange student and maybe he doesn't understand, but how could he...?! He is so not telling the truth. Why? Everyone could see it. He let me take the painting to my own workspace and there I took the top layer of the painting. That was possible because I paint with acrylic and he with oil. He did though put an acrylic base layer on it before he started painting so I couldn't take all of it of. But with the magic of light I could see right through and saw my nose, my mouth and luckily I still had one ear.

But he still kept with his story of what happened. He now points at me of accusing him of doing something he didn't do. So he says! Pfff even the teachers, all of the students and my mentor believes me. But we just want to know why!!! Or how this misunderstanding could happen. I will never be able to get my paintings back, or at least those we found. And we really want to know were the last painting is.

This was to much for me. It was getting dark outside and I wanted to go home. This day I had done nothing I had planned to do. All I had tried to do was finding my paintings and doing everything to get them back. I had a huge headache and was very tired. My body felt like I had used every muscle and even the ones I didn't know they exist. They all where hurting very much, and so I went to bed very early that day. And the next day also.

This was one true story that wasn't very funny.

These are the paintings I have lost...

Decorating with Tea-bags

Two weeks ago I went to a workshop with 2 friends of mine. It was a birthday present for one of them. She had no idea what we were going to do. Fun!
We went to an artist who paints pottery and other china goods. She makes very nice things, but it seemed harder than we thought. So we did our best, and look what I've made!

Poncho 2

Well this poncho is a beauty, and I love it. I made it a couple of months ago and I didn't bother making pictures of it before. I really wanted to show you how it looks wearing one of my poncho's.
My lovely boyfriend made the pictures of Tim and me (whom I finished last week) at a National Park in Wageningen. You'll see the pictures of Tim in my next post.

How do you like my scarf?

Enjoy,
Sanne

Chantal in the Spotlights!

Hi,

Today I asked my boyfriend Frank to make some nice pictures of Chantal. She is totally finished now and I already started on making a little brother for her. Too bad I didn't rewrite the pattern in Dutch so when I started today I had to figure it out all over again how I had to make him.
Enjoy the pictures down below, I love them!

Love, Sanne
